School Supplies Needed

  • A three ring binder (1 ½ inch) and five dividers.
  • Pens (blue or black) and pencils for Scantron tests

Objective

The student will:

1. be able to ask for and give advice about a heathy

    life.

2. Become familiar with the Hispanic culture and the celebration of Día de los muertos.

Class Starter

Review the vocabulary words for primer paso on p. 61

Teacher Activities

1. Discuss activities from previous week with  

    students.

2. Explain the project that will be completed for Día

    de los muertos.  Due Date for Project: Monday, Nov. 5

3. Call out points for test results: ¿Equilibrado o descontrolado?

4. Read results and advice to students according to the score

    they received on their test.

Student Activities

1. Take notes on Altars for Día de los muertos.

2. Score their test ¿Equilibrado o descontrolado? to find out what  

    advice they will receive according to their score.

    students will complete and turn in on Monday, November 5.

2. Play the video: “Día de los muertos” and instruct students to

    take notes as they watch the video.

3. Have students create a calavera to hang in the classroom.

2. Give students time to finish calaveras if needed.

3. Explain instructions for skit that students will present in class about a healthy life.

1. Complete a Venn Diagram about Día de los muertos and Halloween.
