Howdy Partners!! Get ready for the Learning Trail... I am looking forward to a very exciting year with your child! Third grade is a very challenging year, but I know with your help and mine, your child will be successful! Your child will become more responsible this year. Please encourage your child to take their time, complete all assignments/homework, and listen carefully in class. This year, your child will receive a letter grade in four subjects: math, language arts, science, and social studies. Unit Tests will be given in math, science, and social studies. With each new unit, your child will receive a preview to use as a study guide for their unit test. Please review these with your child, sign them and return on the day of the unit test. This will earn your child five extra points on their test. Academic Arena Language Arts Weekly Story- What do Authors Do? pages 260-280 Weekly Skill: Steps in a Process Vocabulary Words: suggestions, libraries, museums, information, difficult, authors Spelling Words: author, library, plant, animal, habitat Word Wall Words: write, listen, receive, finish, letter Math Chapter 7 Test: Tuesday, October 28 We will begin Chapter 8 on Tuesday after the test. This chapter will continue focusing on multiplication. *We began our multiplication fact tests last Friday. We will have these fact tests each Wednesday and Friday. Students need to know all families from 1-12. Please work with your child on mastering their multiplication facts.
