Dear Parent,

It was wonderful to see so many of you at our Open House. Everyone seemed so excited about starting a new school year. We are very excited as well. We will have lots of fun learning so many new things!

During this first week of school, we will be assessing the children in mathematics, reading, and writing.  This will take place over the course of several days and will help us understand the level your child is working at in each of these areas.  We will also begin to learn about God’s beautiful creations, discuss ways we can be respectful, write our Hopes and Dreams which will help us form our class rules, and get familiar with class routines and expectations. The homework will be light this week.

Homework:

Tuesday

Cover your math book.

Read for 15 minutes.

Return any forms requested by the front office.

Do something kind for a member of your family.

Wednesday

Read for 15 minutes

Do something kind for a member of your family.

Thursday

Begin to study for next Friday’s spelling quiz.

Friday

Bring home Class Rules and Logical Consequences and discuss them with your parent.

Sign the class rules and have your parent sign them as well. Return the signed copy of the Class Rules by Wednesday, Sept.8.  Be a loving disciple of Jesus and a good family member.  Go to Mass.  Have a great weekend.

Mrs. Walsh’s class will have PE on Tuesdays and Fridays.  Mrs. Rosenfelder’s class will have PE on Monday and Wednesday.  For this first week of school, your child may wear his/her PE uniform all week.

We are looking forward to working with you this year.  Together, we will make it a fantastic year of learning for your child.

Sincerely,

 Mrs. Rosefelder
