Students have a quiz on 5 characteristics that make a mineral.

Each day we are reviewing for the trimester exam during pregame which is Tuesday, November 17th.

10-24-09

1.Test were returned today.  Students need to copy the question on a separate sheet of paper and write the correct answer.  Parents must sign the test in order to be given credit for corrections.

Example:  Two plates moving apart are called divergent boundaries.

2.  Finish Cornell notes on pages 190-191.  We will have a quiz Tuesday on page 190 and 191 but you may use your notes .

We will be watching Journey to the Universe,Wednesday October 17th. Letters were sent home with your child today.  Please sign and return if you do not want your child to see this movie.  We have  been learning  about the forces that shape the Earth's layers and this movie is a great way for students to compare the real scientific theory with fictional elements used for entertainment purposes and to use their imagination as a mean to compare what could be possible if we were able to journey to the center of the earth.

3.  Notebooks due Thursday-Students were given time in class to organize today and work on review sheets.

Notebooks should be put in order according to date.  Each student should have a table of contents to use.

T-Shirts-A lot of kids have asked if we can order more t-shirts.  We can, however, the deadline is next Wednesday, and we must have at least 12 orders of one style or both.  This is to avoid fees for printing just a few shirts.  Order forms were passed out today to those that said they were interested.

Mr. Sauls the school counselor taught our class about what a counselor does, and how to be successful in middle school.

Week of 9-25-10-2 

Students are doing labs on convection currents and magma.  On Friday the students will complete lab write up and turn in.  If labs are not finished it will be homework. Quiz on interior of the earth will be next week ( Tuesday or Wednesday.) STUDY CORNELL NOTES

9-23-09- Students received test grades today on the scientific method.  Parents please sign and have your students correct the test in pen.  Some students were given an extra assignment to gain a better understanding on questions missed.  The students may use their notes to correct. 

CORRECTIONS ARE DUE BACK BY FRIDAY.  I WILL NOT ACCEPT THEM AFTER FRIDAY.

 2. Get password paper signed for 1st, and 7th. 

 3.  5th only- finish worksheet get familiar with your text.

The students went to the computer lab today to learn how to use the online textbook. Each student registered and received a password.
