Physical Education Expectations

Students will respect themselves

·        Work hard

·        Play safe

 

Students will respect each other

·        Use encouraging words

·        No put downs

·        Keep hands, feet and other body parts to yourself

·        Be good listeners -  Don’t talk when the teacher or classmates are talking

·        Work cooperatively with classmates

 

Students will respect the environment and equipment

·        Use equipment for its intended purpose

·        Put equipment away when instructed

 

Students will be respectful citizens of the community

·        Walk to and from Physical Education in a respectful manner

·        Perform the tasks the teacher asks without complaining

·        Follow the rules

 

4th Grade - 8th Grade Grading Policy

In Physical Education, students receive 6points each class period for participation and 4 points for citizenship.Students are expected to participate actively during physical activity as well as perform assigned tasks, work cooperatively, safely, and follow rules.  Students may be required to complete worksheets or may be given quizzes during class, which will also be graded.

  • Students may lose points if they are not participating actively or are off task.
  • Students may lose points if they demonstrate unsportsmanlike conduct, are not cooperative and respectful, and if they are disruptive or if they are not traveling to and from PE in a quiet, safe an respectful way. 
  • Students may lose points if they are not wearing the St. Mary's physical education uniform and appropriate footwear (athletic shoes) for physical activity. Shoes must not come off while participating in physical activities.
