If you have any questions about the requirements please contact me. Reading groups will be used to meet the needs of all the students. This gives Mrs. Stanley a chance to work with students on their reading level as well as give the students a chance to feel successful during reading instruction. The ultimate goal is to move all students up to the proper reading level for our grade or beyond. ![]() Math The next several weeks will focus on multiplication. We will learn strategies to multiply basic facts, 2 and 3 digit by 1 digit multiplication, and 2 digit by 2 digit multiplication. I will be using a combination of whole group instruction and small group instruction. Please help your child with their basic subtraction and multiplication facts at home. They should be practicing flashcards every night. Knowing these facts will help your child in all other areas of math. You may also want to have your child review with you the things we learned in class that day. ![]() Writing We will be using the Writing Workshop method again this year. Please encourage your child to share what we are doing in writing class.![]() In Science we are learning about animals and their habitats during the first quarter. ![]() Social Studies We are learning about North Carolina geography and landforms. Donations Donations are always appreciated. Our class can always use index cards (any size, any color), pencils, erasers, tissues, white board markers, pencil sharpeners, or anything else that you would like to give.
