to a  new school year!


This course meets every other day for the year and offers in introduction to Spanish conversation, basic vocabulary and the cultures of the Spanish-speaking world. Each student should have a class description which includes information about assessments, grading, and class requirements.  Students will work with the En Espanol 1a textbook and handouts.  In the classroom, students will engage in speaking, listening, reading and writing activities including Total Physical Response storytelling.  Students will also have homework practice.  Please contact me with concerns or questions.

New Material Week of 11/16Days 1 & 2

• more TPRS actions
• more simple conversation (date, weather, age, birthday, classes)

• Classwork:  oral practice and response to simple conversation, reponse to TPR vocabulary, review of Spanish-speaking countries, review concepts/vocabulary
• review of Spanish alphabet

• short dictations, listening comprehension

• Homework:  finish work assigned in Gabi packet not completed during class
• on-going:

review maps, review vocabulary in handouts and notes, use link to flashcards for practice and link to alphabet sound file for additional practice

Quizzes: alphabet sounds/short word dictation, simple conversation from handout and class notes, TPR response, numbers, classroom objects,Spanish speaking countries, months, days, dates, classes other review material
