Welcome to Mrs. F.'s Website! What's happening on Planet Fessler ... Welcome to Third Grade! I am excited that your child is in my class this year! Third grade has many different things to learn. I can't wait to see how we grow our brains during the year! It is so very important that your child make every effort to attend school daily during this time of year. Each day missed is a missed day of instruction. It will be very difficult for your child to "make up" the missed time. I will regularly update this website with upcoming events and assignments for my class. There will be homework often, so be ready for that! Please feel free to email me with any questions you might have. As a general rule, we will have homework Monday -Thursday nights. Spelling homework will be assigned Monday through Wednesday, with Thursday night being a "study night" for the test on Friday. Math homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday nights. It is also expected that your child read at home for 15 minutes each night. During October, we will be studying traditions in reading. Feel free to talk with your child about some of the traditions your family has. In math, we are working on subtraction and finding patterns. Each student could benefit from working out subtraction problems at home. Ask your child to sing his multiplication tables to you. We have worked on 2's, 3's, 4's, 5's and 10's. Constant repetition of these will make this skill easier for your child. We are studying our community, both locally and nationally in Social Studies. We hope to have some members of our community come in to discuss their roles in Woodleaf and Rowan County. Our daily schedule is: 7:45-8:00 Morning work 8:00-8:15 Announcements 8:15-9:15 Literacy 9:15-10:00 Enhancements Tuesday-Art Wednesday-Music Thursday-PE with Coach Friday-Media, Bible 10:00-10:55 Math 10:55-11:22 LUNCH!
