Computer Teacher

 

This year in elementary computers we started a new computer curriculum call K to the 8th Power. This program teaches computer skills while applying the students to core reading, writing, and math objectives. As a result, students gain meaningful reinforcement of key academic concepts while progressing toward technology literacy.

 

Parents may log onto Kto8.com to keep track of their child’s progress. If you would like to do so you may

contact me through “schoolnotes” for your child’s

username and password.

 

We will also continue to learn basic computer skills

with the objectives below.

 

  • Students will identify and name computer components.
  • Students will demonstrate proper care when working with computer components.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to handle software correctly.
  • Students will use the World Wide Web to extend upon other school curriculum areas.
  • Students will use a list of teacher selected bookmarks for an introduction to "surfing."
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to create basic word processing documents.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to print their documents.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to add clip art to their writing using the graphics available.
  • Students will demonstrate the ability to create slideshows using Microsoft Power Point.
