Enrollments and information about Southeast Middle School can be obtained through the Guidance Office between 7:00am & 3:00pm or by appointment. Class schedules are available the day after papers are completed and returned. Please drop by or give us a call @ (704) 638-5561 with any questions. Withdrawals or changing schools requires the shipment of student records. Please notify us of any changes and we can help. Students are requested to begin and end their last day of attendance with assistance from the Guidance Office. School materials that are returned in a timely fashion go a long way for the smooth transfer of records. Scheduling for core academic and exploratory classes comes directly from information submitted during the enrollment process or year end records transfer. Corrections or adjustments to a student schedule may be made later upon receipt of records. Exploratory classes are assigned based upon a rotation of course availability. There aren't any electives or classes to choose until high school. In most instances exploratory classes last for one quarter except: P/E, BAND and CHORUS. BAND is only assigned with a parent request. The curriculum for any exploratory class advances by grade level. Eighth grade students may verify their schedule and request an exploratory class that they've never had before. New students are provided with a Student-Parent Handbook. The last page needs to be signed by the student and parent and then returned to the homeroom teacher. Students will also need to acquire from their teacher or Guidance a daily planner or agenda. Parents need to sign the planner on a daily basis in order to maintain good communication with the teaching staff. Homeroom teachers assign empty lockers to students. Locker locks can be purchased from Front Desk at SEMS. For additional questions or concerns please contact us in Guidance at (704) 638-5561. |
