Week of February 15, 2010 This month we are practicing for our TCAP Assessment. English: Identifying synonyms, antonyms and multi-meaning words. Math: Analyzing and graphing linear functions. Compare and contrast functions as linear or nonlinear. Homework: Tuesday and Thursday. Students that have internet access can go to www.studyisland.com for extra credit. Also, a good website for Math is 321know.com. Reading Plan for Each Week: Monday: Teacher reads story to class; class reads along; teacher and students discuss story. Home Reading -- Students read 15-30 minutes in book of own choosing. Tuesday: Teacher and students echo read story. (The teacher reads a sentence and then the class rereads it aloud. Home Reading -- Students take story home and practice reading aloud to someone. Wednesday: Teacher and students choral read story. (The teacher leads the entire class or group reading aloud in unison. Home Reading: Students take a book of their own choosing. Thursday: Students partner read story. (Pairs of students alternate reading aloud). Home Reading: Students take a book of their own choosing. Friday: Home Reading -- Students read 15-30 minutes in a book of their own choosing. |
