Reading - 

 Well -- we have been mentioning the word PAWS a lot lately in 4th grade.  We are working on Plot, Theme, Main Idea Supporting Details, Drawing Conclusions...all the skills that will help students on the PAWS Test!  In fact, SMART Time -- has been designated as PREPARE FOR PAWS TIME!!!!!  I have great confidence in this class!!!


Math - We took our District Assessment and did fairly well!  We also have 16 studens that have passed their multiplication DSPA!  Great job...they can now work on division...which is basically muliplication (same facts) they are learning!!!!  We also wrapped up Geometry and this week began fractions.  We are busy getting everything taught that needs to be taught before the PAWS test!


Science - We are wrapping up our unit on Ecosystems and this week had a fun activity with the food chain!


Remember -- your child can do the following things to be successful in 4th grade:

Study Math Facts (basic addition/subtraction and multiplication/division)

Get a good night’s sleep and eat a healthy breakfast

Come to class prepared (homework completed/binder in hand!)

READ EVERY NIGHT!!!!!!

Feb. 14 - Valentine's Day Party @ 2:15
Feb. 15 - Early Release
Feb. 20 - No School
Feb. 27 - Field Trip to Science Center in Gillette...
