What is Title I?

A Title I school is a school that receives Title I money, the largest single federal funding source for education.  It is intended to help ensure that all children have the opportunity to obtain a high quality education and reach grade-level proficiency. Title I funds help students who are behind academically or at risk of falling behind. Services can include:  hiring Reading Specialists to provide interventions to students who need extra assistance, hiring teachers to reduce class size, tutoring, purchasing computers for the computer labs, organizing parental involvement activities, providing professional development opportunities, and purchasing materials and supplies.  If you have any other questions regarding Title I, please click on the link below.
