COUNTRY CARDS: Due Date: January 26th 2009 Double Grade in class and @ home Chapters 7-10 project Think of this project like baseball cards or Pokemon cards. 1. On one side you will have a map of the country with the country name and the capital city clearly labeled. The map can be hand drawn or computerized. 2. On the other side you will bullet a list of information important to the country. Use the textbook and any other resources you would like. You should include as much of the following information in your facts. · Physical features (mountains, rivers, lakes, plains, plateaus etc) · Climate & vegetation · Cultural aspects (religion, people, language, music, food, holidays) · History & historical sites · Vocabulary in the textbook associated with that country · Problems that country might be facing today (you may or may not be able to locate info. on this topic for each country) Chapter 7 Countries: **Choose any 9 countries from this chapter Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Jamaica Chapter 8 Countries: Columbia, Venezuela, Guyana’s (which includes the three countries of; Guyana, Suriname & French Guyana) Chapter 9 Countries: Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay Chapter 10 Countries: Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia, Chile Grading 20 Countries: 4 pts. per card (1 pt. for the front and 3 pts. for the back) = 80 pts. Neatness, organization and quality of work = 20 pts. Total = 100 pts.(DoubleGrade)
