Wednesday, May 27 Students worked hard today on their EOG. Afterwards they went to lunch and then PE. After that, we reviewed fractions, customary capacity measurements, metric length measurements, and problem solving strategies we use. Tomorrow is the math EOG using a calulator. HW--Have green sheet ready to be turned in tomorrow, spelling cryptogram, finish limerick, my math group has PW159 and a division sheet. Monday, April 27 MW--BMB p. 628 Quick Review Reading--My group studied concrete poems LA--We worked on idioms and interpreting their meanings. Math--Students took a quiz on division with remainders. SS--Students worked with physical maps to identify continents of specific physical features of North and South America. HW--Read and record, spelling print/cursive, Sharing Marbles math sheet (my group), and 3 idiom sheets. Mrs. Calloway's math group has BMB p. 565 for homework. Friday, April 24 Ms. Paisley was out! Tuesday, April 21 MW--BMB p. 620 Quick Review Reading--My group learned about repetition and alliteration today. LA--Students learned about idioms, reviewed figurative and literal language, and finished their pictures from yesterday. Math--My group worked more on word problems--multi-step with division and multiplication. SS--Computer lab for Class Scape quiz and Study Island. Homework--Read and record, reading log due tomorrow, my reading group needs to finish marking the alliterations in their poem, my math group needs to finish their word problems from class today, everyone has a spelling crossword puzzle to complete. Monday, April 20 MW--BMB p. 618 Quick Review Reading--We rotated reading groups again. My new group is working on poetry. We learned about rhyme, rhyme scheme, stanzas, and reading poetry following the punctuation. LA--We began figurative language today. Students took a figurative expression and illustrated it both literally and figuratively. Math--We reviewed multiplication and division with two and three digit numbers. Next students worked in partners on word problems. Social Studies--Students practiced identifying country and continent for various cities using a political map. HW--Read and record, spelling print/cursive, both math groups have homework. Friday, April 10 MW--BMB p. 599 (16-20) We watched Balto this morning first thing. Then we had math, and students worked on long division with remainders. After that we had lunch, library, spelling test, and spring celebration.
