DRESSING
:

FOR HEALTH REASONS, DRESSING IN THE FALCON COVE P.E. UNIFORM IS REQUIRED.  NO SCHOOL CLOTHES ARE ALLOWED.  Dressing out for P.E. means, that a student will have on the required Falcon Cove P.E. uniform –our shirt, shorts, socks, and sneakers/gym shoes.  If any of these items are not worn, the student will lose the points for dressing/participating that day.  Any clothes left out after class will be put in the Lost & Found box, which is available to all.  The PE department is not responsible for the loss of any student clothing or personal belongings.  You will be issued a PE locker and padlock and you are responsible for using that locker and keeping it locked.  PLEASE TAKE CLOTHES HOME (AT LEAST) EVERY FRIDAY TO BE WASHED!!! (Please, thank you)

MEDICAL NOTICE:

We would like to know if you have any health conditions that may limit your full participation in PE.  Any accident occurring in class needs to be reported immediately to the teacher.  Parents, if your child has been injured or is sick and can’t participate in P.E. for more than 2 days, we will need a note from your doctor.  A parent note saying that the doctor said your child can’t participate, is unacceptable.  We need a note from your doctor.

There may be times that your child is just getting over a cold and you don’t want them to participate fully in fitness. Please send a note with them informing us how much they can participate.  As mentioned above, a note from you will only be accepted for 2 successive days.  After2 days, we will need a doctor’s note.  If you write a note for your child, this does not interfere with them dressing out and they will still be required to dress out.

There will be NO reason for your child not to dress out.  They will not have to participate, but they will still be required to dress out. Physical Education is just as important as all your child’s other subjects and it is a participation class. For any day that a student is not able to physically participate, there is a required FCAT writing assignment(related to sports or athletics) that a student must complete and turn in to the coach to receive a grade for that day.

Physical education is a vital part of child’s education. However, please be aware that being involved in physical activity brings an inherent risk of injury.  Accidents may occur.  We do all that we can to provide a safe learning environment for your child and stress to your child the importance of practicing safe behaviors and following all rules.

Falcon Cove Middle School believes in equal opportunity for all students.  If a student has special needs due to a disability etc., please let us know.  We want to provide equal access to every student.
