Mathematics is OUT OF THIS WORLD!! Welcome to Mrs. Autrey's web page. Welcome to my web page. Here you'll find information that will be useful to keep your child on track and have a successful year. Please feel free to email me with concerns, questions, or anything that comes up throughout the year. Just press on the above link to get to my email address. I will respond as promptly as possible. What to expect in my class: (Goal for the year) Every student will be given the opportunity to learn in an environment that will enable them to become successful with the math concepts needed to meet the set standards in Florida schools. Students will construct new learning from a basis of prior knowledge and experience. They will learn and implement standard math functions that will be enhanced in future math classes. Students will learn the fundamental math skills that will enable them to connect to real world experiences and help prepare them to be productive citizens when facing everyday challenges. Requirements: Students will be required to do daily homework assignments that will assess their understanding of the concepts being taught. They are expected to come to class everyday prepared to learn. This includes having the necessary supplies for math class and walking in with the right attitude and willingness to learn something new. (Remember: You can take quizzes and tests to receive extra credit. Go to the link at the bottom of this web site, find the concepts we are working on. Take one quiz or test per concept and print it out. Turn in to me to receive the extra credit points!! Aslo, you can earn a homework pass every two weeks by completing your homework on a daily basis. I hope to hand out many every other Friday!!!)
Lesson Plans The entire week's homework is posted on the board when the students come in on Monday. Students are to copy all the daily homework assignments into their planner when they enter my room on Mondays. If they are absent, they may email me to get their assignment for that day and copy the rest of the assignments when they return from their absence. Students will keep all of their homework assignments in a spiral notebook. Homework will be checked in for a cumulative grade every week on Thursday. Students will check their answers on a daily basis when it is posted and discussed at the beginning of every class. They will keep the Table of Contents updated and are responsible for completing all assigned daily homework. Homework must be completed in pencil, with a proper heading, and must show work. No credit will be given if a student turns in homework without work shown or if it is not completed in pencil.
Late homework will not be accepted unless the student is absent or prior arrangements have been made. Please check your child's planner frequently.
