Miss Wright's Third Grade Class

What's going on in class?

Reading -  Theme 4 - Animal Habitats

Week of  02/01/2010 - We will be reading the story "Two Days In May".  Ask your student what this story is about and what they have learned about animal habitats this week.

Math - Week of 02/01/2010 - We will be finishing our study of patterns and moving into geometry.  A vocabulary sheet of the geometry vocabulary will be in your student's homework folder.  Please discuss these words and help  your student learn and understand them.

Many students are still struggling with their math facts.  Please use flash cards or games to review these facts at home.  Addition, subtraction and multiplication facts are so important.  Students need this base to be successful in math.

Science - Earth, Moon and Sun Systems - We will be starting Itech lessons that combine technology, math and science.  These lessons are tough for a third graders but will aid in preparing them for the 21st century.

Be active in your child's education by staying up on homework, reading with them everynight for 20 minutes and writing the title of the book they are reading in their agenda, and always ask questions about their day.

Pencils, pencil top erasers, dollar store items for the prize box, Germ - X hand sanitizer, sugar free gum, individually wrapped candies or treats, juice boxes, sandwhich, quart and gallon sized bags and Clorox cleaning wipes are always in need. :)
