It is so important to have a strong knowledge of sight words/word wall words.  These are words that your child needs to know quickly upon sight without sounding them out.  It is important to master the words as we go.  Beginning the second six weeks, first graders learn 30 new words each six weeks with a focus on 5 words each week. 

Sight word games and/or flashcards are enclosed in your child's Take Home Folder.
