Welcome to Mr. Gunter's Schoolnotes Page!!

It is great to be here at Lake Shore Middle School!  Go Warriors!!

Be sure to note that this page is for two classes.  The first class you will find here is the World History component on the Dakota Team.  The second is for Language Arts.  It should also be noted that each student on the team will take a research class as an elective.  My research class will be for Creative Writing, and I will be posting a schedule for that soon.

World History

MONDAY, 11/2/09 A – No World History Classes

TUESDAY, 11/3/09 B – Students will participate in a discussion of the previous section.  After the class discussion, students will read Chapter 3, Section 4 and complete the accompanying questions.

WEDNESDAY, 11/4/09 A – No World History Classes

THURSDAY, 11/5/09 B – Students will participate in a discussion of the previous section.  After the class discussion, students will read Chapter 3, Section 5 and complete the accompanying questions.  We will be having a quiz on Monday!!!!!!!!

FRIDAY, 11/6/09 A – No World History Classes

Language Arts

MONDAY, 11/2/09 A – We will be reading the story “Supercroc” in the literature book and working to complete the accompanying questions.  We will also begin working on creating a persuasive essay.  

TUESDAY, 11/3/09 B – We will be reading the story “Supercroc” in the literature book and working to complete the accompanying questions.  We will also begin working on creating a persuasive essay.  

WEDNESDAY, 11/4/09 A – We will watch a series on the news and media.  Students will be introduced to the 5W’s and H of the news (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How), and will have an assignment writing a news story about familiar nursery rhymes.

THURSDAY, 11/5/09 B – We will watch a series on the news and media.  Students will be introduced to the 5W’s and H of the news (Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How), and will have an assignment writing a news story about familiar nursery rhymes.

FRIDAY, 11/6/09 A – Classes will study Argument and Persuasion in the textbook.  We will work on the first section of the workshop, “What is an Argument?” and students will have an assignment to accompany the section.
