4K  Newsletter for October 27-31, 2008

It is time for Halloween. This is one of my favorite times of the year as a teacher. I love the excitement of each child. This week is going to be a fun and enjoyable week. Of course, pumpkins will be the topic of the week. We will do a lot of different activities with pumpkins. These are a few:

Measure and weigh a pumpkin

Compare sizes

Count Halloween objects

Halloween patters ( ABAB,ABCABC)

We will count Halloween goodies for a Goblin Halloween Snack.

We will make Witch’s Brew on Friday.

By the way, what did your child say about eating spiders last Friday. They thought this was a blast. We are eating spiders, YUCK!!!!! The spiders were marshmallows for the body, pretzels for the legs, m&m’s for the eyes and chocolate syrup over the top. YUMMY!!!!!

Poem of the week:

Jack-o happy,

Jack-o sad,

Jack-o sleepy,

Jack-o mad,

Jack-o cut in pieces small

But in a pie he’s best of all.
