Workman Tardy Policy

  1. Three tardies in a class period equals one unexcused absences for that class period.
  2. Five cumulative tardies in any combination of classes equals a team conference with parent. If the parent does not show for team conference, than the student will be assigned Wednesday school by AP.
  3. After three Wednesday schools, the student will be assigned ISS by AP.
  4.  Truancy officer will be informed as needed for attendance requirements.
  5. Number of tardies starts over each six weeks, but consequences can carry over to the next six weeks.
  6. Converting the three tardies to an ABS per class will be handled by the team at the end of each six weeks during the ABS meeting.
  7. The office will send out a list to the teams of the students who have reached the cumulative five tardies, so that the conference can be scheduled by the team.
  8. Teachers will do a sweep at the beginning of their conference periods in assigned locations.
  9. The teacher will take students to a phone (in their classroom or office) to call the parent.  The teacher will remind the parent about the five tardies resulting in a conference.  Teacher will then walk the students to their class; the students who are walked to class by a teacher will not be subject to the TD5 rule but will be marked tardy by the teacher.
