 Mrs. Chilelli's Homepage 6th Grade Science - Titan Team Welcome to Mrs. Chilelli's homepage. I joined the staff at China Grove Middle School three years ago, and have thoroughly enjoyed teaching in this close-knit community. With over 30 years of experience in education, I have worked half of my career teaching middle school science and the other half working as an Educational Programs Manager in the U. S. Space Program at Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX. Six years ago, my husband and I decided to leave Texas and move to North Carolina. We enjoy the changing seasons, the community, and the friendly people. I have recently changed grade levels, and am now teaching 6th grade science on the Titans Team. This year we will study energy as it relates to heat, sound, light, and ecosystems. We will also study how matter cycles through various systems, how science and technology are related, minerals, rock cycles, weathering, and components of the solar system. Scheduling Conferences To schedule a conference, please call the school's Guidance Office and Mrs. Pinyan will help you. We schedule conferences as a team. Agendas Parents - please check and sign your child's agenda each evening. This allows you to see what he/she has for homework and any notes a teacher may have written. ********************** Students need to bring their Science Journal (composition book) with them every day. They will write in this each day. March - During the remainder of the 3rd quarter, we will be studying about the effects of erosion, types of glaciers, earth's tectonic plates, and other forces that shape the earth's surface and landforms. Students are also working in groups learning to identify various sedimentary, igneous, and metamorphic rocks.
