Book Fair News!

The spring Book Fair will run from Thursday, February 25 through Wednesday, March 3.

On Monday, March 1, we will stay open until 6 pm for Family Night.  Light refreshments will be served.

Battle of the Books

The team members for 2009-10 are working hard.  They are:

Cameron Barringer, Josefina Gutierrez, Megan Richards, Neydi Ramirez, Blade Blumenthal, Jesse Sartain, Ashley Smith, Hanna Brotherton, Ryan Jones, and Ryan Turney.  Sabrina Hopson is assisting the team.  Beginning February 1, we will meet every day to practice.  It is very important to read and be ready for each meeting.  The competition will be held on March 11 at Horizons.

Media Center Hours

Remember that we are open every morning at 7:45.  Also, on Monday and Wednesday afternoon, we are open until 4:15 upon student request.  It is very important to come to the Media Center immediately after the bell rings at 3:20 if you wish to stay.

The featured book for February is Romiette and Julio by Sharon M. Draper.  When Romiette, an African American girl, and Julio, a Hispanic boy, meet on the Internet, their relationship is tested when they are harassed by a local gang who objects to interracial dating.
