Vocabulary Assignment

Vocabulary Pre-Test

Assigment: Please create flash cards using the definitions. The students cannot make the cards unless the teacher has checked their pre test.   

Instructions:  Using your words, pick 2 activities from the list below that you would like to do.  Circle your 2 choices below.  Attach this page to the top of all the activities you have done and staple.  Be sure to turn the entire packet in on the due date.  Neatness counts!  Each activity is worth 50pts.

 

Activities:

1.   Create an Acrostic poem for 8 of your words.  An Acrostic poem is a poem that uses each letter of a word for the first line.  See the example to the side.

2.   Lost and Found Spelling.  Using all of your spelling words, create lost and found ads that you might find in your local newspaper.  Be creative.

3.   Go to www.puzzlemaker.com and create a double puzzle using all of your words. 

4.   Puzzle Pairs.. Get 2 puzzle pair pattern worksheets from your teacher.  Write the word on one side of the puzzle and the definition on the puzzle piece pair that goes with it.  Use colors and markers to make your puzzle pieces creative.

5.   Rules Rule!!  If you could RULE for the day what would some of your rules be? Using 12 of your spelling words, create a list of Rules that your parents OR teachers must follow. 

6.   Write each word 6 times each.

7.   Create an invention!  Draw a picture of your invention.  Using 9 of your words, tell us what your machine or robot does and how it functions.  You can even create an ad for it as well.
