Dear Parent(s),
Welcome to our class website! I can't wait to spend time with each of you at conferences and have a chance to discuss your child and his/her progress on November 3rd.
For the next several months we will be participating in a program called “Book It” sponsored by Pizza Hut. All your child needs to do is read 15 min. Monday thru Friday and have their reading calendar filled out correctly each week. If a specific day is not initialed, there will be an X written on that day and initials cannot be written over the X at a later date. At the end of the month your child will receive a certificate from Pizza Hut and be invited to have lunch in the classroom.
Thank you so much for the fantastic support for Scholastic Book Clubs! They are a great resource for us to earn items and books for our classroom. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. I also want to thank everyone for the very generous gift certificates that I received towards the Scholastic Book Fair at school. I was able to purchase 25 books for the classroom. WOW!
On Thursday, October 30th we will have a Harvest Treat. You may be contacted by one of our room mothers, Mrs. Richardson or Mrs. Logan, to volunteer your time to assist with our small celebration. A letter went home in Thursday folders recently that requested a lump sum of $20 to help make our parties and treats throughout the school year great! I want to thank you in advance for your support!
Many of you have volunteered to help me in the classroom. I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have that extra support. I will be contacting many parents in the next few weeks to set-up volunteer opportunities in the upcoming months. I will not have the volunteer calendar "up and running" until after conferences on Nov. 3rd. We will also be having our first Mystery Reader in during the next two weeks! I will try my hardest to have each parent who expressed interest in being a Mystery Reader in the classroom during desired month.
Dates to Remember:
Oct. 30th: Harvest Treat Oct. 31st: No School / End of 1st marking period Nov. 3rd: No School / Conferences Nov. 4th: No School / General Elections Please continue to sign homework pads nightly after you have checked for completeness of work. As always, if you have ANY concerns about the curriculum, homework, or your child’s well-being, please give me a call. Homework should not take more than 45 minutes. Please sign on your child's homework pad that they spent that many minutes on an assignment and stop. |
