Our Class Moto is:

In our work and in our play,

we have FUN in Pre-K!

Environmental Print

We are learning how to read by using environmental print.  Environmental print are the words that we see around us everyday.  Please send empty containers and cardboard boxes of your child's favorite items so that we may examine the letters that are used to make words and sentences.  We love to read words like, Little Debbie, Power Rangers, Barbie, M&M, and Coke.

 SHOW AND TELL

We have show and tell every Thursday. ALL items must fit in your child's backpack and be light enough for them to carry all by themselves.  Please encourage your child to select an item that pertains to our weekly theme or weekly letter.

**Remember**

All notes to the teacher need to be placed in your child's daily foler. we will not check individual bookbags.

Towels and crib sheets will be sent home every Friday to be washed. Please remember to send them back each Monday.

If your child has to be absent, please send a note. We need to make sure that we have a written note or doctor's excuse on file.
Thanks A Million!!

If you would like to eat breakfast or lunch with your child, you are more than welcome to do so. We eat breakfast at 8:20 and have lunch at 12:20. The adult breakfast price is $1.50 and the lunch price is $2.75.

Activities that can be done at home:

  • Fine Motor Skills:

Strong finger muscles will assist your child with handwriting skills that will be needed in Kindergarten. You can help at home by...

  1. allowing them to squeeze and roll playdough
  2. asisting them in tracing/writing their name (remember to start their name with a capital letter and all other letters should be lower case)
  3. cutting paper with scissors
  4. writing their name
  5. tying shoes
  • Recognizing their Capitol and lowercase letters in random order:

Flash the letters of the alphabet out of order (You can make flashcards using index cards or buy commercially printed cards.) Letters in random order to review with your child are available on the flash card link. Letter recognition is on the kindergarten readiness test.

  • Recognizing their numbers in random order:

Work on identifying the written numerals one through ten as well as counting each numeral with a given set.

  • Recognizing their colors.
  • Recognizing their shapes.

**Please practice these skills at home with your child.**
