Language Arts: We will learn about setting while studying the stories Fish Mix and How Many Fish?

Word: final consonant x (ex: mix); short i; Word family: ‘in’; Poem: “My Skeleton”

Writing: We will finish up our unit on pattern writing.

Math: The students will review Unit 2 and take the Unit 2 test on Tuesday.

Science: We will learn about what is in the sky and how the day and night skies compare and contrast.

Social Studies: We will learn about jobs, how to use a chart, and needs and wants.

Spelling Words: how, many, on, they, why

REMINDERS:

**Please send $2.00 to school for our class Fall Celebration if you haven’t already.

**Book It!: Please log all the books you are reading at home on your student’s Book It form.  Make sure you write the date as well as if the book was easy (E), just right (a check mark), or hard (H).  Our goal for the month of October is 20 books!  If your child reads 20 books in the month of October he/she will receive a certificate for a free Personal Pan Pizza at Pizza Hut!

** October Book It! reading log is due on Friday, Oct.31st.  

 

**This week is Red Ribbon Week.  Here are the events we have planned:

Monday, Oct. 27th- Wear Red Day- students will receive red ribbons today

Tuesday, Oct. 28th- “Team Up Against Drugs”- wear your favorite athletic team shirt, jersey, etc., Ronald McDonald Program

          Wednesday, Oct. 29th- “Elect to be Drug Free”- wear something red, white, and blue

Thursday, Oct. 30th- “Join the Fight Against Drugs”- wear camouflage

Friday, Oct. 31st-“Say Boo to Drugs”-Wear Black and Orange

**It is very important that your child is on time for school.  The students report to the classroom at 7:50 am each morning.  We have several morning rituals/routines that have to be taken care of before we can get to our class work.  Our day flows more smoothly when everyone is on time.
