GRADE 6; the art program in 6th grade focuses on the study of Design and the Elements
of Design. Projects will correlate to the units on; Line, Size, Shape, Color, and Texture. GRADES 7 & 8; the art program focuses on the study of the Principles of Design. Projects will correlate to the units on; Variety/Emphasis/Unity, Proportion, Rhythm/Movement, and Balance. *Details may be found in the Course Description that was given to your child on the first day of art class. Materials and expectations may be found on this page as well. All work should be completed during the art class. If the work is not completed during the class period it becomes homework and is due the next day. Please ask your child to share their progress in art by showing you their Scope/Sequence/Data chart. This has all the assignments listed in the order that they are taught. It will also show you the goals and grades your child has set and recorded. Student work will be exhibited in the following venues; Board of Education, CHMS, Senate Office Building, Winter, Spring, Youth Art month exhibits. Student work will be returned matted and ready to be framed at the end of the year. Students will receive their awards during the assemblies at the end of the school year. |
