I am the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) teacher at Enochville and Bostian. I am so happy to be serving both schools this again this year. I enjoy working with your child and the staff at both schools. Don't be confused if you hear your child say they work with Mrs. "K". It is easier for them to remember!! I am at Enochville on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday and at Bostian on Tuesday and Thursday. Please feel free to call me or leave me a voicemail message at either school. We also have a parent coordiator at our Ellis Street office, Miriam Basso. She speaks Spanish so that might be helpful. Her phone number is 704-630-6089. She can come to translate for you at conferences with teachers. Please just give her advance notice because she helps at many schools. She also has many books and computers you can use so visit our Ellis Street office so stop in! One important way you can help your child is to have a special quiet time and place to do homework. It is very important for students to keep up with daily homework in their class and to try and do their best. You should check and sign their planner every night and ask them some questions about what they are learning. Thank you for all the extra time you spend with your child. It is so important for their future success!!! Watch for news and information about what we are doing. I hope to meet you sometime at school and please call or come to visit us anytime! |
