October 2009 Second quarter sees us improving our typing skills. We type on Typing Instructor at least once a week. 1st-2nd: We are now typing our spelling words on Word, and playing phonics games on line. 3rd: We are working on a Publisher project that is titled "All About Me". We are pulling pictures from the Internet, and putting our typing skills to work writing complete sentences about ourselves. 4th-6th grades are close to completing our research about the Ring of Fire in the Pacific. The following data is due this Friday, Oct. 23. (4th grade - 4 sentences, 5th- 5 sentences, 6th- 6 sentences)-Culture -religion- what do they worship, how do they worship, ceremonies, clothes of the priests, etc. -folklore- what stories do they tell, characters, anything that explains the earthquakes -dances -costumes -Mythology Language
The following do not have a length requirement, nor does it have to be in complete sentences Geography of the location -where is it on the globe? -what are the significant fault features of the location? Volcanoes? Fault lines? -Mountains? Trenches?
This is an opinion section. The children need to write at least 4 sentences about how they feel it would be to live on the Ring of Fire. Living on the Ring of Fire -How is it for them?
