Hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing holiday!  We only have three weeks until the Christmas break, so we will be very busy here at school trying to get all of our work done while still making time for some fun holiday activities :)

 *Book Orders: Holiday book orders are being sent home today and due this Friday so we can be sure that your orders arrive in time for the holidays.  Books make great stocking stuffers and scholastic always has very reasonable pricing.

*Tutoring this week: Monday's group will have to meet on Tuesday next week because I have an ARD meeting after school so tutoring will be on Tu and Th this week. 

*Computer/Word Processing Skills: We will start visiting the computer lab on regular basis this week and will begin with a month or so of basic keyboarding skills. Most of the kids seem to know their way around a keyboard, but if your child is not familiar with using a computer, please work on the following basic skills at home as it will make it much easier for them once we start integrating technology into our curriculum:



opening a new document

highlighting a word or phrase

using the shift key to capitalize

changing the font, color and size of a written passage



A fun way to practice at home is to have your child type their spelling words and then experiment with their typed list by changing the font, size and color of the text.
