Hello Parents and Students,

I was not able to give the Language Arts test last week due to the assembly, Bounce House Party, and Field Day activities. I decided to use the Mixed Review as a test grade in Language Arts.

The textbooks were collected to day but I  will continue to work in all subjects using supplementary materials. I will not assign any homework but will require any classwork that is not completed to be finished at home.

Your child should have brought home a notice regarding graduation information from the 5th grade team. I will be sending an additional note tomorrow on yellow paper. Please be on the look out, it needs to be signed.

Lastly our End of the Year party will be June 4th , it will be a casual day watching movies, signing Yearbooks, and enjoying some treats. Since it is right after lunch we are allowing the kids to bring in canned drinks and chips if they would like to.

Just a note...for any parents planning on attending Lunch Bunches, field trips, or any extra- curricular activities with the students, you will have to have a background check. Even if you have had one in the past, LISD has adopted a new system, so you will have to be re-checked. It takes a couple of weeks, so please hurry to the LISD website to sign up and be cleared. Thank you in advance

All parents must intitial nightly Daily Behavior form and the Planner Book . Remember, any unsigned DB Sheets and Planners count as missed homework and will result in missed recess.

Important Dates:

6/4- End of the Year Party at school

6/8- 5th Grade Honors Night @6:30pm ( Graduation)

6/9- End of the Year Party @ Aquatic Center- 6:30-9:00pm

6/10- Last day of school- Early Release@1:30pm

Homework for the Week: All homework is expected to be returned the following day, unless otherwise specified.

MATH: Now until the end of school, we will complete Step Up to 6th grade which is out of the Envision Math Textbook

Any unfinished Math is to be completed for homework.

SOCIAL STUDIES:  Any unfinished classwork will be homework this week. 

6/1- Will discussCh.18 Causes of the Civil War discussing differences of the North and South, Abolitionists, and Industrialization. We will also discuss the Civil War this week.

LANGUAGE ARTS: Please check your child's DOL's nightly. We will usually check them in class on Friday if scheduling permits.
