*Make Way for Duckings Robert McCloskey *Alexander and the Terribel, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day Judith Viorst
* These five books are suggested reads.
SUMMER SUGGESTIONS
1. The public libraries have great incentive programs during the summer. Check out your closest library and get on board.
2. Be sure to practice the basic 25 sightwords you learned in Kindergarten. (I, to, like, you, and, are, the, do, see, my, made, is, there, me, a, on, they, go, when, have, what, said, look, with, no)
WARNING!!!!
Any time that practice is curtailed, there naturally follows a regression. I urge you to make sure your child spends time every day reading silently and aloud. This includes reading aloud to your child. We’ve all worked too hard to have to remediate reading skills that have waned during the summertime.
