Grade 8 = The Stock Market Game is OVER! We will find out where we ranked in the competition with the other 148 teams in this year's contest.
Our next area of study will be the events of the 1950's & 1960's! We will look and how the Anerican changed with music, politics & world events. We will look into the building of the Berlin Wall, the Presidency of John F. Kennedy, and the Viet Nam War.
Gr ade 7 = We will learn about the Industrial Revolution and the scientific discoveries of the mid=20th century. Study will present a power point of inventions from the mid-1950's to the present and explain how American culture has changed..... think about the World Wide Web!!!! We will also begin our unit on the History of Illinois and the Art & Architecture of Chicago. We will begin our economic study of the online website about saving money and being more responsibile with credit.
Grade 6 = We are going to explore and investigate the cultures of Europe. We will present power point travel brochures of selected countries and have a selection of food from each country in May. We will begin an econmic unit on saving and managing our money and plan a budget with a selected career. . Grade 5 = We will study the Constitution and learn about our rights as Americans.
We will learn about money and how to plan to spend it using opportunity costs. All Social Studies classes have one class period each week in the computer lab to do research and watch power point presentations about the topics we are studying.
Religion = Every Friday we will pre-read the Sunday Readings for the Mass and discuss the lessons and how to apply them to our lives. We will look at the prophets and judges and how they increased the spreading of the religion. We will celebrate the EASTER SEASON and the time up to Pentacost.
