Math

Our Multiplication Timed Test are going great!!!  We have 4 students already on the Multiplication Stars board.  They are:

Nadiya    Bryce    Nick    Jeremiah A.

Remember that students must score a 100 three times in a row to have their name on the board.  Everyone is doing a fantastic job trying to achieve this goal!  Keep it up!!!!!

Our geometry unit is almost coming to a close. The class has enjoyed the different ways that geometry has been introduced.  Our next big unit will be fractions.  Division and multiplication skills are important during this unit, so keep working on them at home.

Math Remediation has begun this week.  This instructional time is done in the afternoon from 1:25-2:05.  It is very important that your child attend these sessions.  The students are grouped based on how much help they need on the topic(s) that we are covering for the week and can be moved to different groups based on the topics.  This week's topic is place value and value.  Our next remediation week will be Feb. 27- Mar. 2.

Literacy Block

We are integrating social studies this month with our reading.  We have finished up a unit with Mrs. Faulkenbury on civil rights.  We also have been doing reader's theaters on Friday about famous African Americans for Black History Month.  We will try to continue reader's theaters on Friday and incorporate themes based on the months.  The students have really enjoyed doing them.
