Welcome! On my website I will post daily assignments,important dates, and other things of interest to you. If you have a question please feel free to email (smithsg@rss.k12.nc.us), phone(704-278-2131 Extension 242), or write me a note in your child's planner.

Each day we have lunch at 12:25. If you have a chance, please join us to make your child feel special.



Homework: Each night students should read 30 minutes. We will be working toward individually set Accelerated Reader goals. To help meet these goals students are encouraged to read nightly. Children can read independently, to a parent, taking turns with a parent or they can be read to by an adult.  All of these methods encourage children to have a positive outlook on reading.  Students should also study their multiplication facts nightly.  The better they know their facts, the more accurate they will be when doing computation.  



On top of reading 30 minutes and studying multiplication facts students will have nightly assignments.  Students are given planners to write down their homework, also I will update my site daily so that you can check to see what these assignments are.

Tuesday:  Writing:  Analyze "Papa Who Wakes Up Tired in
                                                the Dark"
