Reading
We are reading "Good-Bye to the Moon". Test Friday since there is no school on Monday. Notes are sent home at the beginning of the week if your child does not pass the previous week's test. This is to keep you informed of your child's progress.
Remember students must earn at least 7 AR points this next nine weeks.
Practice reading at a good rate students. Your goal should be at least 120 words a minute now. Remember what you read!!
Math
We will be continuing learning about fractions and decimals. Parents, we are using our textbook now so you can help at home. Just follow along with us by looking at your child's work in their binder each night. We hope to be able to do lesson 3-10 and 3-11 this week.
There will be increased homework based on how your child does in his or her work in class. I may send additional practice to those who are falling behind. Please help them review their work. Thanks for all you do.
"Daily Math" homework will be due on Thursday instead of Friday for the rest of the year.
Also, students who did not pass the "Daily Math" homework will bring a note to be signed. This is to help keep you informed.
History
We are beginning to study World War One in chapter 9.
I am always available if you need to speak with me about your child's progress or behavior. I want to do my best for your child and provide the best education possible. Please let me know if I can help. Thank you!
Love,
Mrs. Hill
