                                 Ad Astra Per Aspera!
"To the stars through hard work"

Notate Bene:(Note Well) Thanksgiving party this Friday.  If your child's class number is 1-8, please bring an apple on Friday.  9-16 bring in a banana.  17-24 bring in an orange or tangerine.  25-32 bring in a handful of grapes.

Also, if you haven't, please turn in Thanksgiving Party money.

Math Club is for any student in need of extra help.  Please come on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:45AM.

Also, please remember to sign the Reminder Binder nightly.

Math:     Study Link(problems 1&4) and Math Boxes 4.2.  Please "fine tune" multiplication and division facts by practicing regularly through the year. Fifth grade students are expected to have mastered the basic 0-12 multiplication and division facts.

Spelling:  None.

Vocab:  Students will have to know 5 new EDs, as well as the ten from the word list.  Latin root "fer" meaning to carry, bear, bring together.  Discover 5 new EDs and play the Vocab Sort Game.  Also, all boxes on your vocab poster.

Reading:    DEAR Journals are due 12/16.  Read for at least 30 minutes.  During the school year, please read and discuss good books with your child every night for at least thirty minutes. This investment in time and energy with your child will pay huge dividends in many ways.

Poetry:  Many students failed to memorize  the poem, "Godfrey Gordon Gustavus Gore."  Please remember to recite "every poem every night." This improves memory AND intelligence.  Review poems 1 through 12 in level one of our poetry series.

Social Studies: None.

Science:  None.

Writing:  Type final copy of "The Lion and the Mouse."

Thanks,

Mr. Guy
