The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test

will be given at CCHS @ 8 AM on Wednesday, October 14th. There is a test fee of $14.00 for the test and this fee must be paid at the Office.

Juniors have an opportunity, based upon their test scores, to compete with other juniors across the nation for scholarship money. Sophomores are required to take the test according to the CCHS Charter and is for practice only.

I HIGHLY recommend juniors to take the SAT Reasoning Test twice their junior year. If a student has strngth in the science or social science I also recommend they take the ACT.

Here is an interesting site I recommend all juniors and seniors visit:

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/visits/

It talks about students visits to a lot of schools. It gives their impressions which is helpful. However, if you are truly interested in attending as college nothing compares to an actual visit by you!

A Transcript Release Form must be on file in the Guidance Office in order for your college applications to be sent out. Please get these in as soon as possible.

Please remember to write a letter requesting recommendations from two core teachers as soon as possible. Make sure they receive a copy of your resume also.

Each year college representatives visit our school to recruit students. It is informative for college-bound seniors and juniors to attend at least two of these sessions. Remember that these representatives will only be coming to CCHS ONE time. The more you learn, the better decision you will make for your future. ItÂ’s also a great time to impress the admissions rep. for our school!!!!
