Mrs. Billings' 3rd grade class!

It is getting very close to the end of the year and to the EOG's. Our students have learned a great amount this year and have come together as a "family" to help each other to succeed. Thank you for visiting our website!

Reading:

We are currently reviewing everything we have learned this school year.  This includes: different genres, synonyms, antonyms, cause and effect, fact and opinion, parts of speech, QAR, author's purpose, and much more! 

We have also been going over different test taking strategies. Please ask your child what they have been learning in class.

Ways to help your child in reading:You may help your child by listening to them read their chapter book each night. While you listen to them read ask them questions about what is happening in the story. This will help check for comprehension understanding.

Writing:

This year we have written and sent letters to pen pals in Kenya. We have recently recieved letters back and are in the process of writing back to them. This has been very exciting for the students. Please ask them obout their pen pal from Kenya.

Ways to help your child in writing: You may help your child by reinforcing punctuation and grammar rules.
