Below 69 is an UNSATISFACTORY

***There has been a new rule set for student cell phone usage. If your child's cell phone is seen on his/her person, it will be taken and turned over to the office~even if it is not being used. A parent may come in to pick it up. After the first offense, the phone will not be returned until the end of the school year. If your child needs to carry a cell phone, please make sure that it is kept in a pocketbook or bookbag. Thank you!!***

Parents/Students: Please let our administration know of any "good" news that relates to our school or our teachers. Too often we only communicate the negative.

We are a proud sponsor of the Relay for Life. We will be conducting several fundraisers during the course of the school year. We appreciate any support you may offer. Please keep an eye out for dates and events. Thank you!!  

Luminaries will be sold beginning on October 15th. They will be $10 each. These luminaries will be decorated to honor your loved one. They will also be lit around the Relay for Life track during our silent walk. If you are interested, please contact your child's teacher!

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Bullying is an act that will not be tolerated at Granard. The consequences for a bully are severe and may result in suspension. BULLYING IS ANY ACTION WHICH MAKES THE VICTIM FEEL THREATENED, HARASSED, OR UNSAFE. Please discuss the actions of a bully with your child. Also, encourage your child to tell their teacher if they feel that they are being bullied.

InTouch: a great way to keep up with your child's grades, attendance and behavior ~ right from home!!! See a guidance counselor for more details!                                       

Tests: if a student is absent the day of a test, the student must schedule a time to take the test. Tests must be made up within 3 days of returning to school or a grade of zero will be given. Students may also re-take a test if they receive a failing grade, however it must be taken within 3 days of the original test.  IT IS THE STUDENT'S RESPONSIBILITY...NOT THE TEACHER'S...TO SCHEDULE A MAKE UP TEST OR A RE-TEST!

Science: Students will receive a study guide for each chapter. Please make sure your child studies his/her guide each week. Our test comes DIRECTLY from the study guide. Study guides are due back SIGNED on test day. This will count as a homework grade (turn it in signed = 100%, not turned in/signed = ZERO). Your child's test grades will be sent home in his/her folder with their interim reports.

Behavior: students are expected to exhibit responsible behavior when in the classroom and on school property. We have a lot to cover and a short time to do it in. I do NOT tolerate inappropriate behavior in my classroom under any circumstances.

Consequences:                

• warning/conference with student
• lunch detention/parent contact
• after school detention
• office referral

8:00 - 11:00... Class #1 Math and Science

11:05-11:35...LUNCH

11:35-2:25...Class #2 Math and Science

2:25-3:15...Planning

Please do not allow your child to bring electronics or toys to school. We are not responsible for any personal items that are lost, stolen or damaged. The best way to prevent this from happening is to keep these items at home. If your child is caught with any type of personal item (toy, electronic, etc), it will be taken and a parent or guardian will have to come to the school to pick it up.
