Week Of October 26, 2008

This is RED RIBBON WEEK & we will be doing lots of activities.  Check each day to see what special color, etc. that we should wear.

Several students (6) have not yet learned how to tie their shoes.  We are waiting to do something special when we get 100%.  Make sure you get busy if you can't tie!

Grammar pages 86 - 90 - Nouns
Spelling:  This week we are working on words with "sh" or "th" :  ship, fish, then, shut, with, rush, shell, shop, trash, thin and our 2 high-frequency words: want, good 

Dictation Sentence:  It is not good to rush.

Story:  "A Big Fish for Max"

Vocabulary Words:  catch, good, no, put, want

Monday - Read the decodable reader #13, " Going Fishing", complete activity 1 & 2 on the Family Times Sheet.  We have music today.  Wear red!

Tuesday - Read "Get the Ball", practice basic addition facts to 7, #3 on the Family Times Sheet.  We have gym.  Wear red, white, and blue. 

Wednesday - Read Ten Important Sentences, complete activity #4 on the Family Times Sheet.  POPCORN is on sale today! Wear sunglasses. "Wild Things" collage due today. We have library today and will trade books.  Don't forget yours!

Thursday - Language Test. Complete activity #5 on Family Times. Practice basic facts to 8.  We have music today.

Friday - Wear your costume today - Halloween party @1:30.  Reading & Spelling test.  Pizza Hut "Book-It" due today.

Please make sure that your child keeps a coat, sweater, sweatshirt, etc. in their backpack to wear outside.  We go outside most days.
