Goodman's Gazette ![]() Welcome to Mrs. Goodman's 2nd grade!!! 2009-2010 School Year Here are some important dates to remember for November: Star of the Week: Kelly - November 2nd Kennedy - November 13th Kathyrn - November 19th Annika - November 26th ![]() Welcome to 2nd Grade!!! Each student has a STAR notebook to help them stay organized this year. Please check your child's STAR notebook each night. Students will write down their homework in their agendas each day. Homework is due the next day. Reading logs have started. Logs will be kept in a section of the STAR notebook. It needs to be filled out and signed weekly. It will be sent home on Monday and be due the next Monday. This is a part of each student's homework and reading grade. We will have a list of spelling words to study each week. Please study your words each night. We will have our spelling tests on Fridays. There is a section in the STAR notebook for spelling. We will also write them in our agendas each week. Our spelling words will consist of a skill that we are working on that week and high frequency words. Spelling Words - November 23-27 - no new words Theme for the Week: Stone Soup/Thanksgiving If you ever have any questions or concerns, please feel free to write a note and send it in your child's STAR notebook. Keep hands, feet, and objects to self. 2. Use visible and supervised walkways. 3. Listen to directions from all adults. 4. Report unsafe items or problems to adults. Thoughtful And Be Prepared: Do I think through my actions and responsibilities and seek to be ready and aware at all times? 5. Bring appropriate materials to school. 6. Wear appropriate attire. 7. Be prepared for class each day. 8. Remain aware of academic progress. Always Respectful: Do my actions show respect for myself and for others? 9. Show consideration of others and their property. 10. Use kind and polite words. 11. Use quiet voices in buildings and classrooms. Responsible: Do my actions meet the expectation to take care of myself and be a dependable member of the community? 12. Tell the truth. 13. Do your own work. 14. Keep your areas clean and pick up after yourself. Consequences: 1 strip - Warning 2 strips - Time out 3 strips - Loss of privilege and parent contact 4 strips - Pass to alternative location 5 strips - Referral to an administrator ***Severe behavior will immediately go to the principal. |
