Monday: Homework is two spelling menu assignments with your new list. 

Tuesday: Homework is a math skill page. 

**Return books for library on Wednesday.

  Wednesday: Homework is two different spelling menu assignments.  Study guide for magnets test comes home today.  Test will be next Wednesday.

**Wear running shoes for PE on Thursday.

 Thursday: Homework is to finish your spelling assignments and be ready to take the test tomorrow.  Read over your magnets study guide with a grown-up.

 Friday:  Enjoy your weekend!  Please bring your water bottle on Monday.

 TARGET SKILLS FOR THE WEEK: 

Reading:   main idea and supporting details; chunk words into meaningful phrases for fluency; word choice to improve writing; adding suffxes -er and -est to compare;

Reading strategies:  Guess a word/trade a word; skip the tricky word and re-read; tune into interesting words; chunk letters and sounds together to figure out a word; monitor and fix up; check for understanding; re-read text for fluency; predict the story and confirm with text:  use connections to infer and support with evidence; use beginning and ending sounds; determine cause and effect of events; use prosody and punctuation for fluent reading
