#12  Do you think people in real life change so dramatically as Scrooge did, or do people usually stay pretty much the same?  Explain

#11  Respect  Write down the name of someone in your life right now who you respect very much.  Name two things that person does that causes you to respect him or her.  Do you share either of those traits with that person?Explain and give examples for each.

#7 Life stinks, life is good, life is what you make it.  Which one of these describes your philosophy on life? 

#8 What is the most special gift you have ever received?  Why is the gift special to you?  Who gave you the gift?

Journals are to be completed in composition notebook. Student response must be a page long.

Topics are given on Mondays. Notebooks are due in class by Thursdays.

Tuesday Dec. 16th 3rd and 6th hours

Wednesday Dec. 17th 2nd and 4th hours

Thursday Dec. 18th 5th and 7th hours

Friday Dec. 19th 1st hour exam  Dismissal 1:00pm

English exam will cover Verbs Unit, Pronouns Unit, and Process Paper notes.

Reading exam will cover elements of fiction and drama notes and stories "A Crush", "Magi", and "Christmas Carol".

AR

Students are reading 20 minutes daily in class they must write a summary/ how I feel about the book before taking a test on the novel title.  These are being checked before testing can begin.

If your child is reading at home they must have you (parent/guardian) initial their at home log or write a brief note with title, pages read and your signature before taking an AR test.

Steps for Assessing Online Student Reading Book

  1. Go to http://www.classzone.com
  2. Select Language Arts either for Middle or High School, depending on your grade level.
  3. Select Louisiana under state.
  4. Click on Go under Find Your Book.
  5. Click on the appropriate grade of the literature book. McDougal Littell Literature, Grade 7 (red book)
  6. At the bottom of the screen, click on Online Book.
  7. Click Continue on the "Online Book Copyright Notice" screen.
  8. Under Returning Visitor, enter the username and password for your school and click Submit.
  9. The Online Book will come up on the next screen.
