Thanksgiving Project Due on Monday

Reminder:  This past Wednesday, Ranger Rick Wiltraut came into our classroom and presented a program on owls and birds of Pennsylvania. 
He informed us of an "Owl Prowl" to be held tonight from 7:00 - 8:00 PM.   WHOOOOOOO knows what you will see. Check your child's folder for additional information.  Registration is requested but not  required.

Please check pencil pouches for supplies.  The boys and girls are in need of new pencils, erasers, glue sticks, crayons and colored pencils. The First Quarter of School ended today.  Time is flying.

Don't forget to send in your requested time for Parent Conferences.  Second Grade conferences are on November 24th.
 





...Parents must sign all homework, tests, and assignment books daily.  This practice helps your child  become independent and responsible for his or her own work and helps you know what is assigned as homework on a daily basis.  Occasionally, Mrs. Ward or I will write a note in assignment books also.
 
Spelling:   A handwriting grade will also be on that spelling test.  The grading scale for handwriting:  5 = O outstanding, 4 = VG very good, 3 = G good, 2 = S satisfactory, and 1 = N needs improvement. 

...Flu Season - With the flu season upon us and the warnings of the Swine Flu, we are trying to take all precautions.   We have provided  hand sanitizer, tissues, disinfectant spray and wipes for  use within the classroom.  It is important that you speak to your child about covering their mouth with a bent arm (not a hand) when sneezing or coughing.  I would also suggest that all children have a very small bottle of hand sanitizer at their desk, to be used before snack, lunch time and after using a tissue.  Hopefully, all of these good personal habits will keep us all  healthy and in school.

Gym - Please do not let your children wear earrings, bracelets or necklaces on gym days (Mondays).
