LOOK WHAT WE ARE STUDYING!!!

READING/SPELLING: 

In reading we will continue to work on A to Z leveled readers and reading stories in class. We are also working on story elements (characters, setting, plot, problem, and resolution), summarizing, comprehension, sequence of events, fantasy/reality type stories and comparing and contrasting.

LANGUAGE:   
We will continue to work on mechanics such as, capitalization, punctuation, nouns, plural nouns, verbs, word endings such as -s and -es, compound words, and adjectives.  Please continue working with your child on writing sentences correctly.  This skill is an ongoing work in progress.  All sentences must begin with a capital letter, appropriate ending punctuation must be present and sentences must tell a complete thought.  

WRITING:

Students will continue to learn the importance of using adjectives while writing.

MATH:   

For the next two weeks in math we will continue working on CRCT review, along with double digit addition, money, number lines, estimate, and other math areas that need individual attention.

SCIENCE/SOCIAL STUDIES:   
This week we will be investigating the characteristics and basic needs of plants and insects.

Please remember that CRCT is right on our doorstop and take advantage of the practice CRCT tests online.  If you need your password again, let me know

•    Please check your child’s notebook every night.  This lets me know that you have seen his/her behavior sheet and are aware of their behavior.  Also look for homework each night.
