Note:

1.The 5 chaperone spots to attend The Nutcracker have filled. If any spots open up, I will make you aware.

2. There are 3 spots remaining for the student-led conferences from 4:00-4:30 p.m. All other times are full.

3. CPR training: I will be out tomorrow, Thursday, for CPR training. The students will have Ms. Joon. Also, Mrs. Maupin will have an Art-a-la-Cart lesson for the students at the end of the day.

11/3/09 Bartering Day

Today was bartering day and the experience was educational and fun for most. I just want to make sure that your children had permission to barter the items they brought to school. Ask them about their experience, what they brought to barter and what they kept at the end. Two students forgot their items but will get to barter tomorrow.

Aztec Dancers' Performance

If you have HISD clearance for field trips, you may attend the performance with us in the morning. Let me know first thing in the morning if you are attending so that I may have a count. I believe we will start walking to Pershing at 10:00 a.m. However, you may  need to stand as all of 3, 4 & 5 grade students will be in attendance.

Student-led conference times:

The 3:00-3:30 slot is full. The times remaining are 3:30-4:00 and 4:00-4:30.

Benchmark date confirmed

The next benchmark will be the week of November 20th.

The Nutcracker Performance/Field trip

We will attend the Nutcracker performance on Dec. 10. We are limited to 5 chaperones per class. I have a sign-up sheet outside my door for chaperones. The cost for the chaperones is $20.00. You will need to meet us at the theater.

If you have not returned the confirmation for a time slot please do so right away. I have received about half so far. If you cannot attend, please also let me know right away so that I can arrange an alternative student-led conference with a teacher mentor from our school. It would be a teacher that your child is familiar with. Every child is expected to have a student-led conference per IB recommendations.

Parent-teacher conferences

Parent-teacher conferences are being scheduled as needed. I plan on having more conferences scheduled after the second Benchmark administration which will be next week, if it is not changed. As soon as the date is confirmed I will let you know.
