May 18-June 5. English: Spelling: UNIT 29&31 * With only a few tests remaining it is important for students to continue studying their words and completing their homework! Introduction of new unit:Day 5 (after previous unit's test) Homework Due:Day 2 Test: Following Day 5 Students will now be tested on review, basic , and challenge words. (30 words) Homework: Page: 181 & 193 Rock Star Spelling Challenge: 3rd-4th quarter Each class will be assigned a goal. I will begin tracking progress with Unit 13. The points will be calculated as follows: (this is based on entire class) A=1 point 2Bs=1 point 3Cs=1 point *D or E= -1 point *Late or missing homework= -1 point for each student who did not turn in an assignment *If entire class turns in homework on time I will add 1 point to the class total for the Unit. If the students achieve their goal following the last test of the 4th quarter the entire class will be awarded with a Guitar Hero party!! Good Luck! I have complete confidence that all 3 classes will achieve their goals! Literature: Johnny Tremain: We will complete chapters 6-8 by Tuesday. Due to time constraints we will move quickly through chapters 9-12. Students will view the movie and I will summarize and go over the remaining chapters. Homework: Chapters 6-8 test on 5/20 ** Students were given a worksheet to complete for Chapters 9-12. We will go over some of the answers in class, but the students are responsible to complete the worksheet and turn in no later than 6/2. This will count as their final quiz grade for Johnny Tremain. ***Students have the opportunity to earn bonus points by completing online tests at: www.studyisland.com Students are to login and complete the 5 Literature Tests. Tests must be completed by May 27th. Students must receive a passing score on each test to receive credit. *This is a new online program purchased by the school that focuses on improving students retention of skills developed in reading and math class. AR POINTS FOR 4th Quarter: Due 5/29 Z=25 points Y=20 points X=15 points Spanish: With only a few classes remaining this year we will work on improving the concepts we have learned this year. *Ask your child to share some of the Spanish vocabulary they have learned so far this year. Group Z: Days 1 and 2 Homework: Test on 5/28 Pages 92-96 Students will work on a Cinco De Mayo poem. Each line must contain one noun and one adjective (in Spanish). If not completed during class it will be due on 5/14. Group Y: Days 4 and 5 Homework: Test on 5/20 Pages:92-96 | |||||||
